The displays on level two examine why it took so long to realise a Harbour Bridge and consider the engineering challenges that a steel arch presented. Suspended from the ceiling you will find a model representing the day the arches joined (19 August 1930). The two half arches of the bridge are secured with a massive centre pin. The model illustrates the centre pin that was used to fasten the arches together. Browse through the Souvenir Shop now offering a broader range of souvenir items. There are two observation balconies on the East and West side of level two. Take a breath of fresh air and preview the panoramic views of Sydney harbour. |
