admissions counter is located at the entrance on level one where our
friendly staff are ready to welcome you.
Stroll
through Level One and explore the following exhibits:-
"Dangerous
Work"
As you climb the 200 steps to the top of the Pylon Lookout, observe
the "Dangerous Work" display - a cantilevered structure and
figures demonstrating how the bridge was built during the construction
years 1924-1932.
"Work
and Workers"
Discover the skill and dedication of the planners and workers who made
the bridge in the central chamber featuring two stained glass memorial
feature windows.
Bridge
Artefacts Display
See the
showcase display of artefacts including memorabilia from JJC Bradfield,
Chief Engineer of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and a collection of items
from the original Bradfield Museum. Also on display are bridge artefacts
such as the micrometer theodolite used by surveyors to measure angles
during the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the camera
used by Reverend Frank Cash to take pictures of the Bridge during construction.
